Scott led the original campaign to amend the Texas Constitution to allow reverse mortgages in the state in 1999, when he founded the Texas Association of Reverse Mortgage Lenders. He later closed the very first reverse mortgage loan in Texas in 2000. Over the last 14 years, Scott has testified numerous times about reverse mortgage lending before the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives. In addition to his tireless work in the Lone Star State, Scott has also worked with the Legislatures of California, Arkansas and Minnesota to help craft legislation to protect senior homeowners around the country.
Scott is currently serving his second term on the board of Directors for the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) in Washington, DC.
A long time Austin mortgage banker, Scott got his start in the mortgage business in Austin in 1993, later becoming President of the Austin Mortgage Bankers Association in 2005. In 2010, at the age of 41, Scott was elected the youngest president of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association’s 97 year history.
Scott is currently the VP of Sente Mortgage’s Reverse Mortgage Division in Austin.
